2026 Ticket Price Announcement

2026 Ticket Price Announcement! As you are all well aware, keeping any festival running in the current economic climate is not an easy job, we have all sadly seen too many festivals drop off the calendar already. While we try and absorb some of the increasing infrastructure and administration costs, unfortunately there comes a point when it is no longer economically viable to do so.

Every year we strive to bring you the best weekend possible, charging a single fee for everything including 4 nights camping, 6 concerts, multiple workshops and some of the cheapest beer on the festival circuit! Even day ticket holders can camp overnight at Didmarton! Plus, children 17 and under on 4th September 2026 can come to Didmarton absolutely FREE when accompanied by a full paying adult.

We will also once again be offering British Bluegrass Music Association members a £5 discount on their tickets if they wish to claim it, details on how are published on our website.

We want to keep Didmarton Bluegrass Festival on the calendar for many years to come and there is something that you can do to help. Buy your tickets early, that’s it, it’s that simple, it helps us in so many ways and in return we give you the best possible ticket price we can.

So let’s talk prices. From 1st October 2025 until 31st January 2026 Super Early Bird Tickets will be available held at the 2025 price of just £85! That’s right folks, just £85 for a full weekend ticket, all concerts and camping included! That’s 4 months to save and buy tickets at a bargain price and in doing so help us make sure Didmarton continues.

All other full weekend ticket prices will increase by £5, it’s not very much and still remains great value for money, but means that buying early wins you a greater discount. From 1st February until 31st May weekend tickets will rise to the Early Bird price of £95. In June, Advance Tickets will go on sale at £100 and 2026 On-The-Gate tickets will be £110.

Day ticket prices have been held at 2025 prices of £50 for Friday, £50 for Saturday and £40 for Sunday, this includes overnight camping. They will be available online from 1st August subject to space availability, so if you can, please come for the whole weekend so you don’t miss out!

Thank You from Severn Freewheelers Blood Bikes

Good afternoon folks, as promised here is the update on your amazing contribution to the Severn Freewheelers EVS Blood Bikes and what better way than to let you read the letter we received from them. The total figure of £988 is from both our bluegrass festival and the Ogri MCC rally the weekend before, what an amazing figure to have been a part of raising for such an incredible charity. Thank you all so much for the support you have shown the Severn Freewheelers Blood Bikes! 😀

Severn Freewheelers Blood Bikes, Our Charity For 2025

Each year we choose a charity to support with our raffle and donations, for Didmarton 2025 we have chosen Severn Freewheelers Blood Bikes.

Severn Freewheelers is a group of Advanced motorcyclists who carry whole blood, pathology samples, patient scans/x-rays, human donated milk, medicines – in fact any medical essentials, between hospitals across four counties and also drop into other counties for handovers to other Blood Bike groups, when longer journeys are required.

The Severn Freewheelers are a member of the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes and are a free, out-of-hours, not-for-profit charity service (Charity No: 1120999), who get no government or NHS funding and who’s members are all volunteers, yet are an essential resource for the NHS and on duty 365 days a year.

In 2023 they completed 7500 tasks and 6908 in 2024, they have 188 members across the group and in 2024 covered 201,000 miles while providing this essential service.

It costs £85,000 a year to keep the Severn Freewheelers Blood Bikes on the road and we hope you will join us in support of the amazing service they provide for the NHS. You never know when their service may be essential to you or someone you care about. You can read more about them and the service they provide on their website and they will be present at the festival, so please do drop by their stall and speak to them.

We are thrilled to announce that Didmarton Bluegrass Festival has secured the wonderful Erynn Marshall and Carl Jones for 2025!

Erynn Marshall and Carl Jones are old-time musicians and inspired tunesmiths from Galax, Virginia. They are married – in life and music. Southern song-duets and powerful fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo tunes comprise their diverse sets. Erynn and Carl play with spontaneity and vitality. While rooted in the traditional sounds of older players, this duo stays true to their own muse by composing new, tradition-rooted music. Carl’s song, Last Time on the Road was featured on the grammy-award winning album “Unleashed” by the Nashville Bluegrass Band. They have won many awards for their playing including Erynn’s 1st place fiddle win at Clifftop (The Appalachian Stringband Festival – the first woman to do so in 19 years) and Carl’s 3rd place fingerpicking-guitar win at Winfield – both premier festivals in the United States. They have 15 recordings between them including their duet CD Sweet Memories Never Leave.

Erynn Marshall is an old-time fiddler and is known internationally for her traditional music. Erynn learned the nuances of Appalachian old-time fiddling from rare recordings and visiting 80-95 year-old southern fiddlers. Her effortless, transportive way of playing expresses joy, mournfulness and stays true to the old tunes. In 2019, she won first place old-time fiddle Mt. Airy Bluegrass & Old-time Fiddlers Convention.

Carl Jones is an American songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, born in Macon, Georgia. He studied music near Muscle Shoals, Alabama and was influenced by seeing Roy Orbison, Steve Goodman, and Mac Macanally record there. Carl is widely respected for his instrumental talents and original songs about the joys and tribulations of day-to-day life in the South. Carl’s songs have been recorded by The Nashville Bluegrass Band, Kate Campbell, Rickie Simpkins with Tony Rice and others. Carl is known for his fine musicianship, charismatic teaching, sense of humour, and powerful songwriting.

Old-Time music simply doesn’t get better than this, do not miss your chance to see and hear them play, buy your Early Bird tickets now! 😀

Growling Old Men at Didmarton 2025!

Good evening folks, here’s something that will surely brighten up your Monday, we are delighted to announce that the amazing Growling Old Men (U.S) will be coming to Didmarton 2025!

Ben Winship (mandolin & vocals) and John Lowell (guitar & vocals) are both veterans of the Northern Rockies acoustic music world, and have been performing and recording together since 1998. Together the duo presents a tight, yet relaxed set of original and traditional bluegrass songs, ballads and tunes – informed equally by the music of the Appalachian hills and the western plains.

In concert the Growling Old Men are engaging and spontaneous as they make a big sound for two guys. Their shows include a blend of well-rehearsed material and a few new songs hot off the press – they like to walk the edge of improvisational risk taking.

Ben Winship is a multi-instrumentalist and a founding member of Loose Ties, with whom he performed from 1986 to 1996. In the words of Tim O’Brien, “Ben is one of the acoustic music scene’s best writers.” In addition to the Growling Old Men, he also performs with Brother Mule, the Fishing Music Band and local Dixieland band the Jackson 6. Ben also runs a well-respected recording studio, the Henhouse.

John Lowell has been a major name in the Northern Rockies bluegrass and acoustic music scene for the past 45 years. Fronting two of the region’s finest bands – Wheel Hoss and Kane’s River – John has set a standard for rock solid guitar playing, great singing, and captivating songwriting. Minor 7th magazine said “Lowell flat-picks and sings with panache and a musicality that transcends genres”. His 2022 solo recording She’s Leaving Cheyenne was named #1 by Wyoming Public Radio and his song Angus MacKenzie won Working Cowboy Song of the Year. Most recently the International Western Music Association named John Songwriter of the Year and his recording Snow On The Wineglass was named Western Album of the Year. In December of 2024, he received the Montana Governor’s Arts Award, the highest honour bestowed upon artist working in the visual, literary or performing arts .

You will most definitely not want to miss these guys, so buy your tickets now while you can! 😀
